Client: Poplar Crossing Commons Senior Living Apartments

The Situation:
Poplar Crossing Commons is an apartment home development designed for independent living for seniors 55 years and older and consists of 33 one bedroom and 33 two bedroom apartments as well as a multi-purpose room with kitchen, computer center, library, fitness center, hair salon, coin-operated laundry, washer/dryer hookups, organic raised garden beds, covered picnic/grill area and multiple sitting areas. We reached out to them early on to help them design and furnish their offices, common areas, library, and community room.

The Problem:
The challenge was -

• Providing a warm, welcoming, and homey feel for the residents was a primary goal.
• Staying under the very reasonable fluctuating budget.
• Making sure everything was delivered in time for the big opening.

Our Solution:
Our designer reached out to a well-known custom furniture manufacturer in the NC area who could build sturdy, comfortable furniture for a budget-conscious price, and used specially-priced fabrics directly from a fabric vendor that went a very long way towards achieving both staying in budget and giving residents inviting and comfortable seating. Our designer selected a few key accent pieces of furnishings made by Riverside in order to add to the residential feel. We utilized some of our most trusted budget-friendly office furniture lines for the offices. And finally, our designer tied it all together with the addition of well-placed accessories throughout the areas, chosen to make the residents really feel like they are at home.

The Result: 
As the photographs show, our client and the apartment residents are extremely happy with their new home! From the comfortable but durable sofas to the small "period" accessories, the design and layout met our client's goals and was on time and on budget.

• AC Furniture - Sofas, loveseats, club chairs, lounge chairs, end tables in a soothing blue and green color scheme with Cherry wood accents.
• Denver Furniture - Dining and coffee tables, consoles, and glass door bookcases in cottage chic white and Americana oak.
• Uttermost - most of the artwork.
• Offices to Go, COE Distributing, and Safco for budget-friendly furnishings for the offices.
