Client: Palmetto Pediatric and Adolescent Clinic, Clemson Road

The Situation:
Palmetto Pediatric and Adolescent Clinic is a well-known medical facility that emphasizes the comprehensive care of children and adolescents in the Columbia, South Carolina area. A rapidly expanding customer of Connecting Elements since 2008, they turned to us to help them outfit their newest branch addition on Clemson Road in Columbia.

The Problem:
The challenge was to -

• Use creative space planning to blend new furniture with existing pieces being moved from an older space
• Carefully coordinate the relocation of existing product from the old location with the delivery of new furnishings so there was no down time
• Coordinate with the furnishings in their other offices
• Select furnishings that were durable, easy-care and fun
• Stay under budget

Our Solution:
We assigned the same space planner to this project as had worked with this client on previous projects since she had a relationship with the client and understood their overall goals. She and the client's account manager made several site visits to measure, inventory and evaluate both the existing products and the new site space. They met with the client to determine what the assigned budget was and what  design goals they needed to achieve. Then they put together a selection of new healthcare-friendly products that matched the furnishings in their other offices yet would blend well with the existing furniture being moved over. Finally, they presented drawings so the client could see how everything would fit together and blend into a space that would be efficient, easy to maintain and still be lots of fun for the kids coming in to see the physicians and nurses.

The Result:
As the pictures show, Palmetto Pediatric's new space is a fun, easy-care, comfortable environment for their patients and employees. There is a complementary blend of the previously used furnishings and the new furnishings specified by Connecting Elements. Since CEI also handled relocating the existing product, there were less issues in making sure all product was placed correctly and on time. Their Clemson Road branch was running On Time and Complete. Palmetto Pediatrics is looking forward to using our services for their next upgrade!
